The NBYO staged its first concert in Sussex in many decades on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the gorgeous Saunders Irving Chapel on the campus of Kingswood Univerity. The Keeping Faith / Gardons espoir concert honoured veterans and Sussex area members of the Royal Canadian Legion. The NB Museum and 8th Hussars Museum also provided commemorative historical displays for the event.

Concert Host NBYO President & CEO Ken MacLeod thanked PotashCorp for generously presenting the concert...and expressed heartfelt appreciation to Kingswood University personnel for welcoming the orchestra to perform in Sussex.

Maestro Antonio Delgado also introduced Kevin Lau, who composed the brilliant piece entitled A Dream of Dawn. Lau's original composition was commissioned by the NBYO to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. A Dream of Dawn has been the centrepiece of NBYO concerts staged throughout the 2014-15 season. Performance venues included Vienna's Musikverein--Golden Hall, and renowned concert halls in the Czech Republic and Germany during the summer of 2014.

School and community NBYO performances of Keeping Faith / Gardons espoir have been staged all across New Brunswick throughout 2014-15 in Edmundston, Bathurst, Saint John, Ottawa, Moncton, and Sussex. A spectacular Keeping Faith / Gardons espoir season finale concert will be staged in UNB's beautiful Richard J. Currie Centre on Sunday afternoon, March 29th at 2:00 PM. NBYO will be joined in performance by youth musicians from the Fredericton High and Leo Hayes High School bands...and from the Fredericton Youth Orchestra.

Canadian Forces from CFB Gagetown, veterans, and members of Fredericton area Royal Canadian Legion Branches will be honoured at the season finale. Her Honour NB Lieutenant Governor Jocelynen Roy-Vienneau will also attend the season finale NBYO spectacular.

We hope to see you there. Don't miss this outstanding showcase of NB's most talented youth musicians!
