The University of New Brunswick President H. E. A. (Eddy) Campbell will proudly host the 2015 New Brunswick Youth Orchestra season finale Keeping Faith / Gardons espoir concert on Sunday, March 29th at the magnificent Richard J. Currie Center. The concert begins at 2:00 PM. It will include a moving performance of Kevin Lau's A Dream of Dawn, which was commissioned by NBYO to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. The world premiere of A Dream of Dawn was performed by NBYO in Vienna's renowned Musikverein--Golden Hall in July 2014 at the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival. The orchestra also performed last summer in the Czech Republic and Germany. The NBYO senior ensemble also recently returned from a mini-tour in Ottawa where performances were staged at the Canadian War Museum, historic Lisgar Collegiate Institute, and the University of Ottawa.

Invited guests at the NBYO Keeping Faith / Gardons espoir Season Finale in Fredericton will include Her Honour NB Lieutenant Governor Jocelyne Roy-Vienneau, and Canadian Armed Forces personnel from CFB Gagetown...as well as veterans and members of the Fredericton area Royal Canadian Legion.

Three accomplished Fredericton youth bands/orchestras will give guest performances alongside NBYO at the concert. Fredericton High School band--directed by Don Bosse, Leo Hayes High School Band--directed by Jennifer Horsman, and the Fredericton Youth Orchestra--directed by Sam Arnold will all perform favourite selections from their 2015 repertoire. A combined orchestra--directed by NBYO Maestro Antonio Delgado will perform a spectacular concert closing. Don't miss this dazzling showcase of so many of New Brunswick's most talented youth musicians and international ambassadors.

The New Brunswick Museum will also be providing and interpreting a showcase of stories from the First World War at the Richard J. Currie Center during the NBYO Keeping Faith / Gardons espoir concert event on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Come discover a bugle that called the troops at Vimy Ridge.

Tickets are available online from the UNB/Aitken Centre box office, from members of the NBYO Fredericton Regional Volunteer Committee, or from members of the FHS & LHHS bands, and the Fredericton Youth Orchestra.
