The recent 2015 YOA Orchestras of the Americas residency in Moncton was truly the highlight of our wonderful month-long tour in Canada.
It included performances in New Brunswick: POPs NB in Moncton, The Playhouse, and the Imperial Theatre, as well as headlining performances at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. This was the first residency of YOA Orchestras of the Americas in Canada. Our work and partnership in New Brunswick left an indelible mark on us all.
For the past 10 years YOA Orchestras of the Americas has visited and mentored many youth orchestra programs throughout the Western Hemisphere. Our residency partner for this tour, NBYO/Sistema NB, is simply the finest organization we have encountered.
This incredible success story, so efficiently achieved, is a unique and shining example to all of North America and beyond.
The vision, dedication and highly professional collaboration of administration and artist faculty is on par with the finest of pre-college conservatory programs. The resulting sense of community pride at NBYO and Sistema NB concerts is palpable!
We are grateful to Premier Gallant and the province of New Brunswick for supporting the residency of the YOA Orchestras of the Americas. Our partnership with NBYO/Sistema NB will most certainly continue to flourish. There is no doubt that our mission statement“excel.connect.transform” was totally realized in New Brunswick.
