Tutta Musica is New Brunswick’s newest professional music ensemble.
Launched Thursday afternoon at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Moncton, the ensemble features more than 40 musicians. They are the teaching artists of Sistema New Brunswick, a program of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra that enables children who would not otherwise have the opportunity to learn how to play an instrument and participate in an orchestra.
“These talented men and women are graduates of some of the finest university and conservatory music programs in North and South America,” said NBYO president Ken MacLeod. “By their presence, they are not only making a personal commitment to the music education of young New Brunswickers, they are also creating a critical mass of talent that, on its own and in collaboration with other New Brunswick-based musicians, will enrich the experience of audiences throughout North America.”
NBYO conductor Tony Delgado said the new ensemble offers something new in New Brunswick that had not previously existed.
“The name Tutta Musica means ‘all music’ and we plan to explore every genre of musical performance in every sort of venue, making live music more accessible, more engaging and more relevant than ever before to more people across the region.”
Tutta Musica will join forces with actor/comedian Marshall Button at next year’s HubCap Comedy Festival to put on a musical comedy show.
